Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek

The Mardi Himal Trek is situated in the Annapurna region and Most popular Himalayan  range views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchre, Manaslu ranges along with the Mardi Himal Base Camp. This adventurous and challenging trail is devoid of modernization and is a newly opened  trekking route, off beaten, exotic trekking location. Proper lodging facilities aren’t much available having to rely upon camping. A drive from Pokhara to Phedi marks the start of this trekking route which falls east to the traditional Annapurna Circuit Trek. Beautiful scenery of rhododendron and oak forests and some villages brings Dhampus. A decline through Dhampus attend by the views of the Annapurna Mountain range brings Pothana. This is followed by a walk through Deurali and the Forest Camp and then a steep climb through the rhododendron and Juniper forests to reach the High Camp. The High Camp offers spectacular scenery of the prefect Annapurna Range and the Mardi Himal and is a clear sunrise and sunset viewing viewpoint. To reach the peaceful Mardi Himal base camp, a steep trek needs to be carried out. Mardi Himal has not been ever climbed as of now.  This trails is back to same to path Deurali,after which a visit can be planned to the amazing Jhinu Hot Springs via Tolkha. As the name suggests, the Jhinu Hot Springs is home to natural hot water from the springs which are best to relax and soothe the tired and aching muscles. The trek can be further extended into the Gurung Village of Ghandruk which is another destination for close up views of the Mountain ranges including the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Macchapuchre etc. This trek, being an off beaten, challenging and unique one, provides trekkers with a never before experience and  we will be mostly stay all the time in the trail spent money there.

 

Day 01: Arrival(Tribhuwan International Airport) in Kathmandu Transfer to the Hotel and free activities in the evening 
Day02: Kathmandu to Pokhara by Tourist Coach or Private Vehicle by Car or Van
Day 03: Pokhara to Deurali  
Day 04: Deurali to Forest Camp 
Day 05: Forest Camp to Low Camp
Day 06: Low Camp to High Camp. 
Day 07: Hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp and Back to same place
Day 08: High Camp to Sidhing 
Day 09: Sidhing to Lwang
Day 10: Lwang to Pokhara
Day 11: Drive back  Pokhara to Kathmandu
Day 12:Final Depatur to home

The following basic checklist should help you with your packing for any of our trips. Please remember that you should always try to keep the weight of your clothing and equipment down to a minimum. Your packed trekking bag, should weigh no more than 15 kilograms (33 pounds.) Please remember this is just a checklist and you do not necessarily need to bring everything that is listed below. Use your own experience and judgment to make your decision.

  9. Light and expedition weight thermal bottoms
  10. Sun hat or scarf
  11. Warm fleece hat or light balaclava
  12. T-shirts (2)
  13. Thin, lightweight (inner socks) (4)  
  14. Sunglasses with UV protection
  15. Sleeping bag rated to 0 degrees (3/4 season)
  16. Head lamp (eg  Petzl) spare bulbs & batteries
  17. Small padlock to lock trek bag
  18. Basic First Aid Kit (see First Aid Medicine below)
  19. Plastic bags - for keeping items dry inside trek bag
  20. Daypack (35-40 litres/2500-3000 cubic inches)
  21. Camping mattress, eg  thermarest pad
  22. Water bottles (2)
  23. Toiletries
  24. Small wash towel
  25. Footwear appropriate to the trip
  26. Waterproof shell trousers/pants (preferably breathable fabric)
